Bully Bird (and not in the TR meaning!)

January 30, 2011

It started early with fresh dove tracks in the snow and finished with a video of dove bullying.

In between Bill, the GBH settled in the middle of the harbor doing a little ice fishing

The doves were back and forth between their feeding and digesting

Fun watching them play…

Lazy Geese

January 29, 2011

With the wind down, the snow falling gently and the River’s flow down to just a couple of miles per hour, it is a slow day on the River.

Some days, we see a gaggle of geese on the water or their skein in the air but today there were just a few lone couples cruising up and down the water. They were smack down the middle of the River enjoying their ownership of the center, something they usually avoid between the barges, boaters and skiers.

Winter Scene

January 28, 2011

The snowy days run into one another. Snow shower here, a dusting there, 2-4 inches there. It piles up around and on the River creating a classic winter scene.

We usually report on two suns on the River…not today

The Sun Shines…The Steeler’s Rock

January 23, 2011

Halftime and Steelers are up 24-3 in the AFC championship game.

Just a sunny day and freezing River…back to the game…

The Winter Sun

January 1, 2011

The sun hangs low in the sky, barely reaching over the low hills,

She brings out the blue all around her creating the best color for the season

Reflecting off the River, the two suns extend themselves 93,000,000 miles and 400 yards.
